　　英语写作具有动作技能和智力因素相融合的学习认知属性（Reid, 1993）。学生的英语写作能力必须有写作知识的指导，让学生知道如何写，并在写作过程中将知识转化为能力。许多教师认为，只要学生动笔写作就能提高写作水平，因此一味地要求学生练习写作，但又不教给学生写作知识。学生经过一段时间的努力写作能力仍没有明显提高时，往往会失去写作兴趣。还有些教师认为，学生语法学好了，词汇量大了，阅读面广了，写作水平就会提高，因此在英语教学中花在写作知识学习和训练上的时间远不如听说和阅读的训练多。这些是误导英语写作教学的错误观念。英语写作是动作技能和智力因素相融合的学习结果，在教学实践中二者不可偏颇。

　　课堂上教师首先利用大量的与主题相关的图片、电影片段等创设谈论克隆人的氛围，让学生用英语表明自己对克隆人这一科学话题的态度。这一活动激活了学生写作所需的话题词汇，可以作为写前的热身。从交际功能的角度讲，这样的听、说形式的语言活动，不但不会冲击主题写作活动，反而与主题写作教学是相互统一、相互促进的。

　　在完成上述活动后，教师引导学生通过小组合作写一段话介绍克隆人话题并过渡到Should Human Cloning be allowed?这一主题上。这一活动调动了学生的写作积极性和主动参与意识，在轻松活跃的氛围中强化了其对概括技巧的理解和运用，学生的语言储备和发散思维得到充分激活，他们更加愉悦和主动地参与主题讨论，为下一步的写作活动做好前期准备。

　　在完成上述活动的基础上，通过课本P99的Writing Help引导学生通过小组协作完成a discursive essay的后三段提纲，要求第二三段分别写出中心句及至少两个论据。基于小组活动的写作练习实际上帮助学生搜集有说服力的论据并克服对写作的畏难情绪，让他们有信心完成写作。这种形式的写作训练强化了学生的语言运用技能，帮助学生初步完成单元写作要求，培养学生的写作思维和写作能力。

　　教师可以要求学生在写完提纲后，同伴间相互交换检查，检查内容包括拼写、用词是否准确，句式是否准确，语法是否准确，语言表达是否流畅、丰富等。互评可以鼓励学生间健康向上的竞争，激发竞争意识，促使每个学生尽力提供最好的作品，并且纠错之一的过程有时语言知识的再现和再复习过程，能够使学生在交流中得到更多的帮助，收获不同的语言思维和语言表达方式，补充和丰富自己的语言学习。

　　在提纲写作的基础上，引导学生利用Writing Help中的格式要求(正式与中立的风格)，以及Communication Workshop中的连接词（although, even though, however, therefore, while）独立完成写作任务。此写作活动充分强化了有关连接词的理解即运用，提高了学生的写作能力。

　　学生最终完成习作后，将学生的作文张贴在教师里，让学生互相批阅。学生互相批阅能激发他们主动寻找差距的意识，也是对单元目标语言再理解、再巩固的过程。学生从另外的角度反思自己习作中的语言运用，强化语用意识和语言运用能力。教师在学生批阅完后，可再作进一步检查。这属于指导性主题写作。通过教师不同程度的引导和帮助，学生将自己要表达的思想通过一定的逻辑组织后用文字表达出来。

　　这种主题写作练习可以是独立完成，也可以是小组合作，方式可以灵活多样。指导性主题写作是介于模仿性写作和自由写作之间的过渡性写作，学生在进行大量的模仿性写作练习和指导性写作练习后，才能掌握一定的写作技巧，从而进行自由写作。指导性主题写作可以帮助学生从原始的模仿性单元语料学习过渡到具有创造性的基础语言运用，提升综合语言运用能力。

　　六、结束语

　　随着课程标准对学生写作技巧要求的提高，写作教学的地位越来越重要，每一位教师都在摸索写作教学的可行方法。有些教师认为，写作就是让学生坚持不懈地写；有些教师认为，写作就是要套用各种范例；还有些教师认为，学生必须多背才能写好作文。这些方法都有一定的可行性和效果。提高学生的写作能力必须建立在一定的基础上，如学生的写作兴趣、写作愿望、成就感等。要想满足学生的这些心理需求，教师就必须从挖掘课程资源入手，设计主题写作活动，让学生在轻松活跃的写作氛围中主动运用单元目标语言，同时教师要善于发现学生习作中的闪光点和不足之处，让学生在展现自我的过程中提高英语写作能力。
