　　For all Chinese, the Spring Festival is the most important day in the year. The celebration for it is very big, so people must do many preparations for it. Besides, because of the big celebration, we have to prepare many things. Therefore, purchase is essential. We buy foods for the big dinner, snacks and fruits for the holiday. Every family prepares a lot for it, so the market is alive at the end of the year. We can buy everything outside. Cleaning and buying have become traditions.

　　On the thirty night of the year, I was happily taking the bought firecrackers to the music square. These firecrackers are different in the form, with different names, such as the powerful explosion gyroscope, the speed flying car, the black spider... I was impressed by these firecrackers.

When people meet on the way, they say to each other “happy new year”. Friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other. Children indulge themselves in games.

　　Though the 15-day period， which starts with the first day of the lunar new year and ends on the 15th day (known as Lantern Festival)， relatively long， it the busiest time of the year for Chinese people. The arrangements they have to make for family reunions， buying necessities and preparing food keeps them busy throughout the holiday. Many of them travel back home and meet friends over dinner and drinks. The celebrations include decorating the house and setting off fireworks.

Some may say th a sign that people have become less caring about their near and dear ones， but we should see th development as a time- and energy-saving exerce granted by the information age.
