　　众所周知，南外是一所以外语见长的学校，而其中擅长英语的“精英”们，更是数不胜数。进入这所学校后，我才明白自己的英语多么欠缺，于是，我就开始了“漫漫”的学英语之路。殊不知这是一条苦乐交织的路。

　　“天啊，为什么每天的英语单词都这么多啊！”几乎天天都能听到我和同学们的感叹。回想小学时，一学期也学不了多少新词。而现在，英语笔记本是消耗最大的'一本本子，甚至一天学的生词，与一学期的相差无几。繁重的英语单词“压”得我喘不过起来，就连写其他作业时，我嘴里也不时轻声念叨着。

　　最怕的，还是英语考试了。我像极了寓言中写到的那个捡一个玉米棒掉一个的大灰熊：面对厚厚一本英语本，看着那些以前学过，可现在早已忘记的单词，我的大脑一片空白——当然，考试成绩也不尽如人意。学英语，真是一件“苦差事”啊！

　　当然，学英语也并非完全在苦海里“挣扎”。南外的英语课，充满了趣味：每节课都会播放一首英文歌，课前也有同学上讲台演讲。而且老师们一直在教我们地道的句型和实用的表达方法。我永远也不会忘记，当逛商场时发现药店门口写着pharmacy时的激动；坐地铁时看到Olympicstadium的激动……我感到所有事物正以一种从未有过的方式重组，正如用截然不同的方法诠释整个世界。大概这就是学英语的魅力所在了吧！

　　要说我敬佩的一个人，那就是我的妈妈，她长得不高也不矮，瘦瘦的，好象一阵风就会把妈妈吹倒（开个玩笑）。接下来我就给你讲讲妈妈学英语的事。

　　那时我才上三年级，学校里开了英语课，每次老师说要我们回家读课文给家长听，可是好多地方妈妈不懂，我读错了她也不知道，而且我不会读的单词和课文也没有人帮我辅导，为这妈妈和我都很苦恼。几天以后妈妈做了个想象不到的决定：妈妈要学—英—语。我和爸爸都不敢相信自己的耳朵。

　　妈妈说到果然做到，她先去买了许多英语教材和磁带，然后又去报了英语班。可是大多数英语班都是教小孩子的，好不容易才找到一个教成人英语的，妈妈很高兴。

　　妈妈一开始学英语很困难，爸爸劝她说：“你现在都三十多了，记忆又不好，没有年轻时的脑子好用了，反正也学不好，不如别学了。”我也劝妈妈不要那么辛苦，可妈妈就是不听，她说：“我不能半途而废，有始无终，我一定要坚持，要给璐璐做个好榜样，不是吗？”然后妈妈有接着背单词、读课文。因为妈妈基础不扎实，所以要从三年级的教材开始学。晚上我们叫妈妈睡觉了，她说：“你们先睡我过一会就睡”。我们就没管她。12点多了我起来喝水，看见妈妈还在看书就劝她早就休息，她点点头说：“再学一会”。

　　到了第二天，我们看见妈妈的眼睛红红的肿肿的，也不知道昨天晚上几点才睡，爸爸生气的说：“你爱惜点自己的身体好不好？多大的人了，眼睛还要不要？”我也对妈妈说：“你这样是会影响上班的。”妈妈只是笑笑，照样我行我素，爸爸一生气就把妈妈报的'那个英语班给退了。妈妈知道后很伤心，不理爸爸了好几天。我们以为妈妈伤心过后就不学了，但我们错了，妈妈照样坚持着，自己边学边找老师，就这样妈妈坚持了两年多，终于学会了英语，现在我的英语也有人帮我辅导了，我们能在家里进行简单的英语对话，我的英语成绩也慢慢的上升，我真为我的妈妈骄傲。
