Dear Dad，
Today I was at the shopping mall and I spent a lot of time reading the Fathers Day cards。 They all had a special message that in some way or another reflected how I feel about you。 Yet as I selected and read， and selected and read again， it occurred to me that not a single card said what I really want to say to you。
Youll soon be 84 years old， Dad， and you and I will have had 55 Fathers Days together。 I havent always been with you on Fathers Day nor have I been with you for all of your birthdays。 It wasnt because I didnt want to be with you。 Ive always been with you in my heart but sometimes life gets in the way。
You know， Dad， there was a time when we were not only separated by the generation gap but pletely polarized by it。 You stood on one side of the Great Divide and I on the other， father and daughter split apart by age and experience， opinions， hairstyles， cosmetics， clothing， curfews， music， and boys。
The Father-Daughter Duel of 54 shifted into high gear when you taught me to drive the old Dodge and I decided I would drive the 54 Chevy whether you liked it or not。 The police officer who escorted me home after you reported the Chevy stolen late one evening was too young to understand father-daughter politics and too old to have much tolerance for a snotty 16 year old。 You were so decent about it， Dad， and I think that was probably what made it the worst night of my life。

有一次，在课后辅导时，郑老师把我叫到她跟前，我顿时慌了神，心里怦怦直跳，心想：莫不是我哪里做错了？我忐忑不安地走到郑老师身前，没想到郑老师竟用温柔的`语气问我：“小祺，你刚转学过来，这里的教学水平比不上西安，如果老师上课有发音不太标准，你听不懂的或不会的，都可以随时来办公室找我。还有，你初来乍到，可能还有很多地方不适应，有什么困难，都要及时跟老师说。”我听了郑老师的话，不但心头的石头落了地，反而感到一股暖流充盈了全身。我点了点头，微笑着说：“好的老师，谢谢您！”
还有一次，在英语课后，郑老师叫我和其他三位同学到办公室一趟。我还以为老师要批评我作业晚交的事呢！心里很不踏实。来到办公室，郑老师从桌子上拿出几份练习卷，亲切地说：“这是我在网上找的资料，先发给你们几个比较好学的同学，老师给你们开‘小灶’，希望你们加把劲，好好学，给其他同学带个好头，做个榜样，争取把咱班的英语成绩提上去。”我们几个听了，都感激地点点头，跟老师说谢谢。
这就是我们的英语老师，虽然我跟她接触才短短的几个星期，但是她的关心和鼓励，让我更加充满了信心，也让我对英语这一科产生了更大的学习兴趣。

The scenery of my home town is beautiful. The first thing we may do after your arrival is to go to the woods in the morning, with is as lovely and peaceful as the Vienna woods we’ve seen in the film The Great Waltz. With birds singing, we’ll have a leisurely walk in the woods.
My hometown is located in a mountainous area and we will certainly not miss mountain-climbing during the holiday. The mountains here are all covered with trees of different kinds and are worth touring. There is no doubt that we’ll have a real picnic there.
After that, we can go fishing and swimming in a river, which is not far away from my home. It would be very delightful to sit at a tranquil country river bank with our feet dangling into the cool water in such hot summer days.

We took the bus to the lake. As soon as we arrived there, we climbed the drum tower and looked at the whole city and many hutong. Then we took a little boat to ride on the lakewhich is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen, meanwhile, we enjoyed the beautiful lake and the great sunshine. After rowing boats, we went into an alleyway nearby to visit a local family. Talking with them about their life and learning to make Chinese dumplings brought us lots of fun.
