　　Benny was just one month old when we Bought him home. When we spoke to him, he always looked at us with his big intelligent eyes and wagged his tail. As he got older he spent longer hours outside. He would often sit or lie down next to a large evergreen tree in the front yard watching the traffic and people go by. He was a quite dog most of the time except when he saw a stranger. Just a few years ago, Benny died in his sleep at the age of fourteen. In many ways he was one of us.

　　The Importance of Diligence(勤奋的重要性)

　　Diligence is the mother of good luck，as the saying goes, which means hard work and perseverance bring about fortune and success. However, it does not mean exerting oneself all day and night without rest, food or sleep.

　　From my point of view, diligence is of vital significance in one s life and career. There are some reasons as follows. Firstly, industrious spirit is an indispensable quality that makes a person stand out, as most people are biologically endowed with almost the same IQ. Secondly, diligence leads to accomplishments while laziness must result in failure. An idle man indulges himself in creature comforts. That he is doomed to failure is of no doubt. Lastly, diligence helps remove ignorance, overcome difficulties, and enlighten the mind.

　　Therefore, it can be said that being diligent costs nothing but is worthy of millions of dollars. All in all, I hold the view that diligence is crucial in ones life.

　　As the time by, I finished my vacation and returned the school. I know it is the time that I should say goodbye to my vacation life and adapt myself to school life. There is no doubt that I enjoy my vacation very much not only because in the vacation I could relax but also I can do what I would like to do keeping away from the pressure of the lesson and examination. I like travel very much so I spent about three days going for a trip with my sister and my good friends. We went to a beautiful small island named NanAo, which is near my hometown.

　　I almost could not control my excitement and happiness when Ifirst caught sight of the islandsurrounded by the cleanly blue-black water of the sea and where you can see the white and soft beach from a far distance. I thought maybe it was becauseI had not seen the sea for a long time that I felt so excited and happy when I dipped my feet in the cool seawater. I remembered I did not leave the beach until I was so hungry that I had to go for a dinner with my sister. We enjoyed our time very much. Finally we were reluctant to leave Nanao and were determined to visit there again next holiday.

My father had a raincoat, because he’d just had a meeting and he went to school as soon as the meeting finished, so he had no time to return home. When he saw me, he took his raincoat off and gave it to me. I didn’t want to receive it. He looked at me and said, “Take it.” I had to put on the raincoat, but my heart was not still. I cried, and I couldn’t let myself stop. Since that day, I knew my father loved me. Oh, I can’t forget that day all my life.
