中考英语中，很多学生自感基础很差，主动放弃了作文的15分。实际从评分标准看，即便学生表达能力很差，但只要所写文章中包括题目要点中的部分信息，依然能得1―3分的最低档分数；如能完整表达题目给出的要点和要求，同时文章通顺，无严重语法和拼写错误，一般能得到4―11分的中档分。
写作可分三步走。首先，仔细阅读要求中的几个陈述性中文要点，判断陈述的事情是什么时态。然后根据相应时态，将这些句子在草稿纸上译成英文。第二步，将句子用合适的.关联词连接成段落，并将前后表述整理通顺。第三步，根据这些要点，再按题目要求发表相应评论。最后将两部分连接成完整文章，抄写在试卷上。
组织语言和句子时，一般应尽量使用简单句式。不会的单词，可想办法换个方式表达。字数一般要求控制在60―80字左右，应尽量保证不少于60字，同时不能多于100个字，否则将被扣2分。
