　　This is the second time for Mr. Brown to visit Jinan. During his stay in Shandong, he will visit several schools. Next week Mr. Brown will visit some places. First, he will take a train to Tai'an to climb Mount Tai. Then he will go to Qufu by bus to visit the Temple of Confucius. After that, he will return to Jinan by bus. Then he will fly to Qingdao for a visit. There he will stay for some days and give a talk on American English. At last he will take a plane to go back to America from Qingdao.

　　Mr. Brown comes to Shandong for a visit to several schools. He is in Jinan now. This is the second time for him to come here. Next week he will visit some places. First, he wants to go to Tai'an by train to climb Mount Tai. Then he will visit the Temple of Confucius in Qufu. After he returns to Jinan by bus, he will fly to Qingdao to stay there for some days. 　　I am going to Hawaii for vacation .I am going in December ,and I am staying for three weeks.Hawaii is comprised of a chain of 132 islands.We usually think of the eight main islands when we think of Hawaii.This is not surprising as the other 124 islands only total about 3 square miles in land area. Hawaii is home of the world's most active volcano,the crater of Kilauea on Mauna Loa.Sandy beaches,towering volcanoes,and lush valleys lure thousands of tourists each year to this tropical paradise. Hawaii is the most ethnically and racially diverse state of any state in the union,a mix that includes Caucasians,Americans of Japanese descent,and Polynesians,among others.Native Hawaiians have held on to many of their customs and traditions despite the influx of non-natives over the years.Hawaii is the only state that has an official native language.Statehood had been proposed many times throughout Hawaii's history,but it was not until 1959 that Hawaii became the 50th state of the United States.

　　The Spring Festival，Chinese New Year，is the most important festival for all of us。 All family members get together on New Year'Eve to have a big meal。At the same time，everyone celebrates to each other。At about 12 o'clock，some parents and children light crackers。The whole sky is lighted brightly。 We may watch the fireworks excitedly。How busy it is！

　　On the first early moring of one year，many senior citizen get up early and they stick the reversed Fu or hang some couplets on the front door。 Some house's windows are sticked on red paper cutlings。

　　The Chinese New Year lasts fifteen days。 So during the fifteen days，we always visit our relatives from door to door。 At that time，children are the happiest because they can get many red packets form their parents，grandparents，uncles，aunts and so on。 The last day of the Chinese New Year is another festival。 It names the Lantern Festival。

　　So the Chinese New Year comes to the end。

　　Will Christmas Replace the Spring Festival？

　　Christmas arouses increasing attention year by year in China。 Christmas cards become popular with students。 People hold Christmas parties and exchange Christmas girts。 A lot or TV and radio programs about Christmas are on。 Meanwhile the Spring Festival is less appealing to youngsters。 Thus some people wonder whether Christmas will replace the Spring Festival。

　　This worry is fairly unnecessary。 Why ？One reason lies that Christmas only affects Christians，college students and joint—ventureworkers。 Another reason is that Christmas is mostly celebrated in cities。 Few people in countryside show extreme interest in this exoticfestival。 By contrast，the Spring Festival is the most influential traditional festival in every family。

　　I think，it is natural that with increasing exchanges with the West，a lot of Western holidays have been gradually introduced into China。 For us Chinese we should never neglect or even discard our own traditional festivals。 For centuries Chinese have observed this traditional holiday to welcome the beginning of a new year。 And we will treasure the Spring Festival forever。

　　My plan of next year

　　A new year ，a new start，when I stand on the edge of a new year，I can't help thinking about my plan of next year。

　　Just as the old saying：“Well began is the half of the success。”So I decide that I should be at work while the others are still relaxing ，and then ，at the beginning ，I'm quicker than the others and of course I will get better result than the others。

　　But ，what I really decide to do is that I must make good of anytime I can spare though it seems impossible。 While，I will do my best to live up with what I have planned，and the result will prove it。
