　　我的爸爸是个交警，他每天都忙里忙外的。每次下班，他总是很晚回家。特别是节假日期间，爸爸更是忙得不可开交。家里老也见不着他的人影。

　　为了适应新的形势，作为一名警察不但要业务精通，而且要不时地学习新的知识来充实自己，爸爸单位经常要举行不同的考试，英语考试就是其中的一项。这下可苦了爸爸，因为他是在乡下长大的`，所以英语基础非常地差，没办法，只好现在用功了。他每天只要一有空，就会坐在家里的录音机前面跟着读，还特地叫姑妈给他买了一本英语词典呢!记得有一次，我放学回到家，刚走近门口,就听见了有人在读英语，我感到很奇怪，想：今天是谁比我回家还早呢?我进门一看，原来是爸爸啊。当我走到他的身后，爸爸竟然还不知道我来了呢。我拍了拍他的肩膀，爸爸立刻回过头来，看见了我，说：“儿子，你回来了啊，刚才吓了老爸一大跳啊。”看着爸爸这么专心致志地学习，我放下了先玩一会儿再做作业的念头，于是我就坐在旁边开始做起作业来了，突然我听见录音机停下来了，哦，原来是爸爸遇到了一个不熟悉的单词，在翻词典呢，只见他一边翻着字典，一边嘴里还默默地念着这个单词，当学会了这个单词，又继续读了起来，直到半夜我去解小便，看见客厅的灯还亮着，哦，原来是爸爸还在学英语呢。一开始我以为我们全家我最辛苦了，没想到爸爸白天要上班，晚上还学习，真辛苦啊!就这样，爸爸用这种坚持不懈地精神，慢慢地学习着英语。

　　看见爸爸这认真样儿，我心里暗暗下决心：一定要像爸爸一样专心致志地学习，小时候先学好基本功，扎好基础。不管做什么，都要认真、坚持不懈地去做好。
